About this movie

When the White House (Secret Service Code: "Olympus") is captured and the President (Aaron Eckhart) is kidnapped by a terrorist mastermind, disgraced former Presidential guard, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), moves to action. As the national security team scrambles to respond, the secret service ground team is wiped out and it's up to Banning to retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger crisis. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and also starring Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd and Rick Yune.

I agree with the reviewers who say this is much better than White House Down...don't waste your money on that one. This one has a better story, the threat feels more credible, and you can see the actors really putting their heart into this. You want to see a lot of "forced" acting, cheesy effects and dialogue, or unrealistic crap then watch WHD...but to get the cake and eat it too rent or buy OHF!!

I don't get why there are so many complaints about the realism of this movie. I got the impression that it was meant to be a popcorn action flick where you just sit down and enjoy the ride. I quite enjoyed the ride. It was silly at times but very entertaining. Took me back to Die Hard and other great ones like it from a while back. Not as strong as Die Hard obviously, but still a blast to watch.
