About this movie

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth's reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller "Death Wish." Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city's violence when it is rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family's assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense, action-thriller "Death Wish."

Rented out of curiosity, and boredom late last night as i had seen the original Bronson movies. Highly recommended as a sleep aid - helped me doze off. Just another squint a bit, ramble off a few lines, performance, all consistent with the BW brand. SS original comments were spot on... it shows. Sad to say but the largely horizontal, comatose daughters performance was the highlight. Too bad they didn't have a dog to steal the show....

It is rare for a remake to turn out good, but "Death Wish" (2018) does just that. It is such an crackerjack movie that delivers the goods. The ACTION and THRILLS! It is so entertaining that it no surprise that the general critics have panned the film. Most of today's critics wouldn't know a good movie if it landed on their vaginas and started to wiggle. There's never a dull moment here. The first Death Wish was great, but rather than just update the film the producers give you a whole different story line. Yes it;s still about taking the law into your own hands and ridding the streets of violent thugs, but here there's more substance present. Death Wish (2018) is one of the best action movies in years with it's strong supporting cast, strong graphic violence, and an obvious way to clean up the streets when the cops won't. Not to mention Bruce Willis delivering one of his best performance since "A Good Day to Die Hard"

This was a nicely done reboot of the original Charles Bronson franchise. Bruce Willis's character is a mild mannered doctor until his family is attacked. Then, Bruce's character takes action and he has to learn everything I learned about guns at 9 years old on his own. The cops are always one step behind him. His luck just needs to hold up a little bit longer. As a fan of the originals, this is a fine remake in my opinion.
