About this movie

Eye in the Sky stars Helen Mirren as Colonel Katherine Powell, a UK-based military officer in command of a top-secret drone operation to capture terrorists in Kenya. Through remote surveillance and on-the-ground intel, Powell discovers the targets are planning a suicide bombing and the mission escalates from “capture” to “kill.” But as American pilot Steve Watts (Aaron Paul) is about to engage, a nine-year old girl enters the kill zone, triggering an international dispute reaching the highest levels of US and British government over the moral, political, and personal implications of modern warfare. Dumbest, most unrealistic bs I have seen in a long time. 5 minutes of action and the rest of the time you want to pull your f-ing hair out. The only good part of this was the guy who played the African operative on the ground,... he was great. Think he was also in captain Phillips. If you want to watch a movie of people arguing over whether or not to launch 1hell fire missile for an hour and a half and then be let down by the totally predictable ending, then you will love this shitty excuse for a movie.

I really wanted to like this movie. But it was really contrived in some parts. Also the acting for us service men and woman seems really too emotional. You join military for a reason you may have to kill people when you don't want too. If you cant accept that then don't join the F'n military. I sure wouldn't. Anways, the message is put there kind of like 12 Angry men and Dr Strangelove. I prefer it gone the Dr. Strangelove approach. 4 stars for acting but 2 stars for the writing some parts were well written but some parts were just stupid...

This was a good example of how ISIS uses innocent people and converts them to their cause, (or manages to get them killed by hiding behind them) The father of the little girl's family KNEW he was living near fanatics. He even warned his daughter against angering those people. ISIS typically camps right around hospitals, mosques, churches, people they can control and hide behind. I have heard US military commentary outlining that very strategy which also frustrates them in active engagement. The only viewpoint which this movie did NOT thoroughly flesh out, was the truly insidious nature of terrorism. Those people in that suburb were most truly endangered by the presence of the terrorists. All loss of life is a regrettable thing. Do you think the base in Las Vegas was centered around some 24 hr kindergarten or WALMART for crying out loud? NO!! they are a secure, uniformed US military facility, Because we operate a LEGITIMATE MILITARY. The only people in this movie who seemed to realize that were the Admin higher ups and the two Colonels! If it would have been a US operation, I believe the child would have been sacrificed almost immediately. With less ado.
