About this movie

When cargo-plane pilot Frank Towns (Dennis Quaid) and co-pilot AJ (Tyrese Gibson) are sent to evacuate the staff of an oil exploration operation that has been shut down, they become stranded in the Mongolian desert with no hope of rescue. The mismatched team of survivors must put aside their differences and attempt to build a new plane--The Phoenix--from the wreckage of the old one, in hopes of flying back to civilization.

There is a point in the movie when in the 120 degree sweltering heat of the desert they crash landed in, all the characters started dancing to a pop song on the radio. They're all dancing and singing. No kidding. And that's not the dumbest thing in this movie. Even in the sparse environment, where they had to ration everything to survive, there was still plenty of stupid to go around.

Very surprised this movie did not do better than it did during it's initial theatrical run! Of course, by the time I rented it, at a price of little more than $3.00 on Google Play, the only competition it faced was a Thursday night of network television. Context is everything I guess! Oh yeah: "Elliott" (Giovanni Ribisi) Is gorgeous, and, I wanna meet him ...please? Seriously folks, not without it's flaws, but, compared to a night of typical network T.V, Rent this!

It is an Okay to watch once or twice but not purchase. I liked the 1st storyplay more than the 2nd. Not saying anything bad about but it's an average B-grade remake. Enough said. Mic Cl;-)~ Ririe, Idaho
