About this movie

A "modern" young woman of the 16th century, Danielle (Drew Barrymore) is as independent and wise as she is beautiful and kind. Against remarkable odds, she stands up to her scheming stepmother (Angelica Huston) and works miracles on the lives of everyone around her, including the crown prince of France (Dougray Scott)! Now you can relive this captivating, contemporary retelling of the classic fairytale.

Love IT! I have seen this film so many times I lost count! Danielle did a wrong thing for a very good, a right reason. She really tangled a web when the Prince crossed her path again and again and again. Good guys should ALWAYS finish first. Love the scene during the all-nighter with the gypsies. Just a breathtaking movie. Oh! And love the choir during the wedding as well as the song by Texas during the credits! Beautiful!

I love this film! From the costumes to the characters themselves as well as the film's setting, it's gorgeous and endearing period film set in Renaissance France. The heroes get their happy endings and the villains get their comeuppance. Also, the "Cinderella" in this tale is assertive as well as kind and compassionate Each scene is carefully directed to feel the characters' emotions and their thought processes. It's a wonderful film, for most viewers, despite a few minor upsetting scenes.

I'm a chick but I don't dig chick flicks as I find them to be really cliche and just plain dumb. Ever After is a chick flick however, the romance was subtle and not over the top. The plot made sense. The cast was fitting. Realistic. Relateable. This is the only chick flick I will watch.
