No one in this movie has any clue on about what Steed and Mrs. Peel are. Fiennes should be embarrassed that Patrick Macnee outdid him just using his voice. Seriously did anybody actually watch the show before making this? Because it looks like they heard what the show was and never bothered to see the details.

No one can replace Patrick McGee as John Steed but he has gotten older and RP does an good job with the character. Same with Uma. Try not to compare the movie with the 1960's series too much, the series was awesome and had unbeatable chemistry with McNee and Rugby. I would watch it again.

Having lived thru the 1960's and having a thorough understanding of both the concepts of Pop and Camp it is refreshing to see a film directed by someone who was familiar with the times and style in which the Avengers where created and generated a plot that touched on many episodes of that marvelous and classic show. The surprises in the film were delightful Patrick Macnee was in but did not quite do a cameo. Sean Connery a delightful villain and the romance that hung in the air between Steed and Mrs. Peel finally blossoming. All of this made this film a total enjoyment event to view.To bad there is only the one.
