The excellent actors could not save this one from its own ignorance. The characters knew nothing of how love works and magically ignored the harsh emotions that easily come out of it. The main characters were actually jerks. On top of that, the musical productions were lack-luster and even ugly. I cannot recommend this movie at all, despite being designed around George Gershwin's amazing music. I don't even recall Rhapsody in Blue being in the movie.

By far one of my favorites. Has been a favorite since I was a child. The colorful scenes and clothing have always enchanted me. Such a sweet love story, with beautiful dance numbers and some wonderfully catchy songs! It is definitely a must see! The creativity shines through all of the scenes.
