About this movie

Edward Norton and Colin Farrell star in this crime thriller that blurs the line between morality and duty as it asks the question: What does it mean to be loyal? In New York City, a homicide detective Ray Tierney (Norton--The Painted Veil, American History X) is assigned to investigate the precinct run by his older brother, Francis (Noah Emmerich--Little Children). Meanwhile, the investigator's best friend, Jimmy Egan (Farrell--Alexander), is a cop in that precinct who may be corrupt as well.

This is a good depiction of a corrupt department hard at work to continue covering its tracks while moving forward. It also throws in the twist of multiple members of the same family in the same department, each with different views on each others actions/inaction. Strong and realistic ending. Negatives: Slow and dark. Positives: Realistic and suspenseful

There's alot going on to overload not even action scenes keep me interested and couldn't follow saying now what's going on. I glanced and did other things as I put in the background to watch. Should be better but falls to subpar.

The performances in this film are just stellar, all around, but I have to give a special shout out to the great John Ortiz! His scene with the reporter in the car is just brilliant. What a wonderful actor!
