Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is based on the early exploits of Indiaโs first true-blue detective, created by Bengali bestseller writer Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film is set in the Second World War torn Calcutta during the 1940s and follows the first adventure of Byomkesh Bakshy (Sushant Singh Rajput), fresh out of college, as he pits himself against an evil genius who is out to destroy the world. Using his wits against the most villainous arch criminal the world has seen, in a world of murder, international political intrigue and seduction.

Tum lok bekar ho. Jao,tum logoke liye bakwaas plain film hi thik hai ๐ธ accha film dekhneka adat jo nehi hai. ๐ Writer Sharadindu Bondopadhay was a brilliant writer & his every piece of writing were priceless. I'm sooo proud to being a Bengalian. ๐ How dare you to judge his character with superhero of Hollywood. That's a different genre you idiot ๐ And my special thanx will go to respected Dibakar Sir. He shows his real masterpiece in this film. I like this Byomkesh. ๐๐

I don't know why people don't like this movie, perhaps they wouldn't have completely understood it or gone through it. It's the best detective movie I have watched ever. Not a sort of action and floating awkward mystery , thriller movie ,this movie possesses bundle of mysteries revealing at the stages where you will be stunned. A perfect storyline and awesome concept, it's a treat to watch

I am a really big fan of dibakar banerjee.. And this movie again proved that he is a master mind...truly compelling narrative style with an amazing cinematography and terrific production design...the fusion of a period film with modern rock was big surprise and worked in a really good way..all in all, missing a movie like this would be a big crime ๐๐๐
