About this movie

The legendary Mel Gibson stars in this edge-of-your-seat action-thriller that explodes into action during a violent category 5 hurricane. As disgraced cop, Cardillo (Emile Hirsch, INTO THE WILD) races to evacuate an apartment building, he comes across Dr. Troy (Kate Bosworth, SUPERMAN RETURNS), and her retired detective father Ray (Gibson). When a murderous gang of thieves arrives to rob a wealthy tenant, they must join forces to battle the criminals and escape with their lives before the entire city is deep underwater.

It was a good movie despite not a lot of budget and not hight concept. Ignore the perpetually offended, screeching, PC knee jerk critiques. There was nothing "disrespectful" about this film. The female lead character that participates in saving the day is Puerto Rican. It doesn't portray Puerto Ricans in a bad light. The offended outcry is coming from those who want all Latinos in general, and all Puerto Rican characters in particular always portrayed in a "Mary Sue" (flawless portrayal) mode.

This movie is a disrespectful depiction of the disaster me and my family as well as many other puertoricans suffered during hurricane Maria. This movie should not exist and should be wiped from the face of the earth.

IT's another great movie from Mel Gibson. Ignore the haters, they are not worth listening to. It isn't his best, but a solid film -- I recommend many of his others, though, including "What Women Want" and "Braveheart"!
