About this movie

From visionary director Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve) comes a delicious new take on revenge. Everyone said Cassie (Carey Mulligan) was a promising young woman...until a mysterious event abruptly derailed her future. But nothing in Cassie's life is what it appears to be: she's wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she's living a secret double life by night. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs of the past in this thrilling and wildly entertaining story.

Starts out interesting and she is a likeable character but as the movie progresses she becomes darker and more disturbed. She goes from being a sympathetic character to an unlikable one. Also, not one likeable or good male figure in the whole movie. This is definately a hate men revenge flick. Whoever wrote the script has serious issues with men that is for sure. Women will love this flick, men will not. I only hope the women who watch this? Are smart enough to not emulate it!

Carey Mulligan delivers a great performance & cinematography is beautiful. The portrayal of predatory men of all types being caught in their own trap is entertaining & exploring the ongoing PTSD aspects for female victims was well done and felt original. At times the comedy worked, at other times it was a bit forced. My main quibble is with the last 20 mins - to serve up a good twist ending I felt like the core message & the heroine were betrayed in service of a stunt. 4*'s - Worth a watch

I watched this with my wife. She thoroughly enjoyed it although we had different points of views on certain meanings. It's quite poignant in for the times we're in. This was an excellent performance by Carey Mulligan. She takes over whatever scene she is in. Everyone else is okay. They story is very slow to come out and will keep you guessing at the exact motivations the main protagonist/anti-hero. I think the end of the movie which seems to be the most controversial according to the internet was well done. It was unexpected and not what you think. Which is refreshing and excellent. Short and sweet this is a revenge movie, not in a gory visceral but in a moral and social justice manner. Strong lead, with good directing as well as cinematography. Several beautiful shots with feel good moments, as well as moments that will retribution. Would recommend definitely recommend to a friend.
