About this movie

Melissa McCarthy is masterful in the captivating account — based on a true story — of Lee Israel, a best-selling celebrity biographer in the 1970s and ’80s. When Lee (McCarthy) comes to the realization that she’s no longer en vogue, she spins her art form into a perilous web of lies, deceit and outright crime to get back on top.

Interesting to say the least. This is probably the best movie I've ever seen Melissa McCarthy in. It is well written and acted. I think some of the people giving reviews on here haven't even seen the movie. Then there are the misogynist dudes from left field saying women are liars? I'm talking to you James B. Jeez. Remember movies are just stories. The literary community seems to hate the very thought of forgery. But I'm sure it happens more than you think. This is a great TRUE story. Watch it.

Follow your intuition girlfriends.... Never fails. When rotten tomatoes has a 91%, well put that money right on the student or car or mortgage immediately. Shall I continue??

I couldn't finish the movie so I can't give a full review. This wasn't the worst movie I've watched but not the greatest. It was slow and dragged out in my opinion and maybe in the right setting I could fully appreciate this movie.
