About this movie

HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers, was wounded by a grenade, and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Someone should of killed Does during the war if that would of stopped this movie from being made. Outside the war scenes there's nothing but stale melodrama, predictable cliches (the dialogue especially), and nauseating over-acting. The war scenes could of been better, but you feel like your in a studio and not the Pacific. The scenes feel restricting, like your only allowed to look forward or down, and I can't recall one scene where there's any glimpse of anything beyond the foreground. Blah!

True story! Conviction of Desmond Doss with his personal relationship with God was awesome. Which spoke to alot of people he served with, and saved! This film will "speak" to your soul one way or another. Either to accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord, or to get in a tighter relationship with Him. No man could have done what Desmond did without God working through Him. Great acting and great actors. Gruesome war scenes which I'm sure was how it was. Male nudity.

Desmond Doss moved just right down the road from where I live. Piedmont Alabama is the city. More like a town. Our Highway 9 is dedicated to Desmond Doss. Desmond was an amazing man. I met him years ago at church. Those guys went through some sure enough Hell. There was a friend of Desmond. I can't remember his name. He lost his sight in the war. He walked all over town. Without a stick. Him and his wife were always at Huddle House. Hearing about Desmond being a good man. You really should see t
