About this movie

Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci star in director Martin Scorsese's riveting look at how blind ambition, white-hot passion and 24-karat greed toppled an empire. Las Vegas 1973 is the setting for this fact-based story about the Mob's multi-million dollar casino operation where fortunes and lives were made and lost with a roll of the dice.

A riveting crime Mob story. Robert De Niro at his best. Joe Pesci nails an old school criminal who's habits take over his judgment. If you want to watch a great movie with some of the best Actors ever, Well you can't go wrong. Martin Scorsese put it all together perfect. Can watch this movie over 100 times and never get tired of it. PERFECT.

The whole film is superb, only gets a little drawn out when DeNiro and Stone keep squabbling. Martin Scorsese at his best. DeNiro, Pesci, Stone, and all actors superb. Although some say it's an inferior retelling of "Goodfellas," they couldn't be more clueless. I prefer Casino, perhaps the greatest gangster film ever made, which to my taste, means it's one of the greatest films ever made. Last 45 minutes or so just as riveting as the beginning. Cream and Jeff Beck "Truth" in soundtrack brilliant choices.

Another DeNiro and Pecsi film, if anything, they were trying to capitalize on the success of Goodfellas and basically tried to add a stronger female lead. While this film is good in regards to story telling, I can't separate how it seems like they are trying too hard to make a decent film. They are successful, but at the end, I don't care about any of the characters. It left me feeling as though I watched a good story, but did not have any lasting impact. It's good for a rainy day film, but nothing more.
