Gorgeous, kaleidoscopic take on Argento's original idea. It is not simply a remake, but a new unique vision. It is stunning. Thom Yorke's swirling, celestial score is the perfect backdrop. His creepily beautiful melodies surround Suspiria like sinister lullaby-shadows. Tilda Swinton's jaw-dropping triple-performance is worth the price of admission alone. Guadagnino's Suspiria is definitely one of 2018's most exciting pieces of cinema.

Tilda Swinton is absolutely amazing in this film. Really, all of the cast do an excellent job in this piece. The soundtrack is one of a kind and the dance choreography is breath taking. This movie is not a typical Hollywood horror movie. There are no cheep jump scares, the horror comes not from scary visuals (tho this movie isn't lacking in frightening imagery) but instead, the tension created by politics within the witches coven. I've already seen this 3 times, it's my favorite of 2018.

Be prepared for really extreme gore. The slow burn intro built up a sense of intrigue, the combination of modern dance (which inherently feels unnatural) and horror works really well, some of the characters were perfectly creepy, and the soundtrack is amazing. But the gore was far beyond what we were expecting, so we never found out how it developed beyond that. A shame, because the atmosphere and situation was plenty haunting enough, so the gore just seemed unnecessary.
