In 1970s South Boston, FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish mobster James “Whitey” Bulger (Johnny Depp) to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. The drama tells the true story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history.

Really bad acting on behalf of Johnny Depp. He always tries to play some weird freaky guy. This time so he's wearing blue contacts which is a total giveaway and the casting of the character weeks was really bad too he had blondish blue eyes and he looks mulatto in this picture. Plus they edited out all the crude violence of the man who was America's Most Wanted. Tamed him down in the movie.

Now don't get me wrong, this movie is not half bad and the performance from Johnny Depp is phenomenal and in my opinion this was a rather good comeback performance compared to his previous roles of the past few years. Although, I feel like the story was a bit bland, boring, and I believe a lot more could have been done to make this a thrilling biographical crime drama.
