About this movie

Prepare for a Freaky take on the body-swap movie which only Blumhouse (makers of Happy Death Day & The Purge Franchise) could bring: a teenage girl switches bodies with a relentless serial killer! High school senior Millie (Kathryn Newton, Blockers, HBO's Big Little Lies) is just trying to survive being the unpopular kid when she becomes The Butcher's (Vince Vaughn) next target. Their fateful encounter gets twisted and they wake up in each other's bodies. Now looking like a towering psychopath, Millie learns she only has 24 hours to reverse the curse and get her body back before the switch becomes permanent and she's trapped in the form of a middle-aged maniac forever.

Why is die Antwoord in the music credits?! Why is their music used throughout the promo?! Why are blatant manipulative liars and sexual abusers being regularly used in film?! Like they're completely exempt from ALL attacks on their fans and family bc Cinema...Dafuq. Besides that this is a b-movie...which could have been an A if they chose better music resources. Stay informed. STOP making movies using sexual offenders as clout chasers.

Story line could have been better, but as always Vince Vaugn is a comic genius.i live the premise. Sort of a slasher film version of trading places or freaky friday. Very interesting seeing the actor of the slasher and the teen girl switch roles. Perfectly executed on their part. I grew up on horror and slasher films and now I live how movies like this and things like cabin in the woods like fun of and exploit the tropes of those genres.

If you're in on the joke and understood that the movie played into horror tropes on purpose, then you'll likely find the movie to be good. If you understand the "'Freaky Friday" undertone then you'll enjoy it even more. It isn't a masterpiece, by any means, but it is clever nonetheless. So many homages to Scream (some, almost shot-by-shot, others in various plot-points) here that it's almost Scream laid directly on top of the Freaky Friday premise.
