The horrific murder of 14 year old Emmett Till and his Mom's reaction to it left indelible memories on the hearts and minds of two 12 year olds who eventually became my parents. I watched the two episodes of "Women of the Movement" with them. And, after all these decades later, they informed me the anger and sadness produced by the murder are still felt but also the tremendous pride and inspiration felt for Ms. Mamie's actions to right the awful wrong.

As good as it was...it was equally tragic....66 years later. Ms. Till-Mobley showed INCREDIBLE strength and INCREDIBLE character. The cruelty displayed by these perpetrators was beyond comprehension. A child Emmitt Till was...just 14 years old. The story must be told and I'm so glad it was adapted for television so that this generation of children, gets an opportunity to understand the struggles that African American people faced in the South, during Jim Crow. A must see for all. The truth is forever POWERFUL. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” ." ~ George Santanya

It's a part of history, what a beautiful way the true story was told from how his mother suffered and how it affected everyone involved. It's so sad that a human can take the life of another and have no remose of what they have gone. So sad this happen and how injustice is still active today.
