About this movie

Adapted from the terrifying short story by suspense master, Stephen King. Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin (John Cusack) believes only in what he can see with his own two eyes. But after a string of bestsellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he has no real proof of life...afterlife. But Enslin's phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel for his latest project, "Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms." Defying the warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson), the author is the first person in years to stay in the reputedly haunted room. Another bestseller may be imminent, but like many Stephen King heroes, first he must go from skeptic to true believer -- and confront his demons to survive the night. The plot is absolutely in-genius, however, it was not performed as such. The vivid scenes were astonishing and it took haunted hotel movies to a new level, but the acting did not fulfill the plot's requirements. The main character often portrayed himself in a way that made moments that should have been scary, rather humorous. The movie is very suspenseful but prolonged as well. The ending is very disappointing as well. During the movie it was told by Samuel L Jackson that, "Nobody has lasted in the room for more than 1 hour". However, once the hour is up we are left to find that a new hour has begun and that he has not beat the time as we had hoped. Concludingly he is stuck in the hotel with no chance of escape. At this point of the movie one gives up hope as he does in which he chooses to commit suicide. On the plus side, his death was not in vein; for, nobody will never suffer the pain that he endured ever, ever, ever, again. To summarize, see the theatrical ending its right on Youtube, it will make your life complete.

The most dumbest movie ever and was a big waste of time. Wasn't scary at all and didn't make sense. I'm very disappointed in this movie. Usually Samuel Jackson movies r good but not this one, just a big waste of time. LIKE I SAID STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. EEEEE GADS. :-(

The director's cut is trash. I'd tell you to stick with the theatrical cut, but you can't buy that in digital format. I tried. They said it was theatrical cut, but it was just a copy of director's cut again.
