After seeing the promo set in Nick Offerman's woodworking studio, I knew I had to see this movie. I am a huge fan of Nick and Megan. The trailer hooked me in by using every single almost-funny line in the movie, with an Albert Hammond Jr. guitar lick for punctuation. I went in with an open mind. I would put up with a lot of low-budget indie nonsense to see two very underrated actors in a feature film. I did not expect hilarity. I did not want Ron Swanson. This movie consists of seemingly disconnected scenes populated by characters whose connection to the action is never apparent. Albert Hammond Jr. is done a great disservice. In lieu of forging any connection between the audience and the characters, the director opens and closes scenes over and over again with phrases from the same song. I will not be able to listen to "Yours to Keep" for a while now without shuddering at the memory of this floundering attempt at a movie. Sorry Nick and Megan. Sorry to everyone who I am sure worked very hard on this movie. It just falls flat.

Writer/Director Bob Byington's incredibly unique style and sense of humor make for a clever, one-of-a-kind experience that certainly isn't for everyone, but those who get it will love it.
