Excellent cinematography and acting but it was like the director and producer took DMT non stop during production. So sad to see what could have been an excellent movie with an important and powerful message have virtually no impact because it was directed and produced by whack jobs. Remake please but with a staff in their right mind.

The poster is definitely misleading. DIVISION 19 is not a geeky sci-fi with impossibly good-looking teens and HG Wells spaceships such as Skyline. It is an essay on the vulgarities of a future existence where citizens are owned by the State and all individuality is banned - save for those excommunicated to far beyond the city - the kind who can think for themselves and for whom money is not the sole reason to exist. The crumbling Detroit skyline represents a collapsed future of ATM-style pill dispensers (presumably hospitals are long gone), deranged robots and mass unemployment, while the four main leads embody the themes; State control, the bungled and the botched and those who may be in a position to fight back. With Julian Assange recently arrested and about to be shipped here to the good ol' US of A, this film is a timely and terrifying reminder that if you give away your data all to freely - willing to hand over your personal details and preferences to the likes of Facebook, Instagram et al for 15 minutes of fame - then God help you if you step out of line - or worse - if The State does, and then you will not be in a position to do anything about it.
