Based on true events and Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese and Dean Devlin, comes The Wannabe, a story about Thomas (Piazza), a man obsessed with Mafia culture during the 1990s in New York City. The two stars are very good actors, but the script is awful. It's a shame that the movie is so flat. I think it would have been better if the movie had explored Thomas and Rosemarie Uva's ( the real life couple) childhood and background to show the terrible effects of drug addiction. It would be a real challenge to write an interesting script about people whose lives were so sad. Not even Martin Scorsese could save this one.
