About this movie

Inspired by the true story, Stronger stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Jeff Bauman, a working-class Bostonian who was at the 2013 marathon when the bomb blast occurred and he tragically lost both of his legs. After regaining conscious¬ness, Jeff was able to help law enforcement identify one of the bombers, but his own battle had just begun. Jeff’s deeply personal journey tests a family’s bond and defines a community’s pride as he overcomes adversity to become the living embodiment of "Boston Strong.”

It's a great story and I'm sure the intent was good. But this movie is pretty bad from a movie perspective, script is poorly constructed. Very cheesy lines at times. Jake Gyllenhaal carries this movie but he can only do so much surrounded by less known actors that actually make the emotions less convincing. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because the concept, despite its tragedy, would have made a great movie if it wasn't so rushed.

The swearing didn't throw me at all. Felt like i was hanging out with my family watching it. The bombing was horrendous and I had friends there. I think they wanted you to feel the emotion from the aftermath and how much it changed lives. Hot a little too close to home but a decent story with the normal overdone Boston accent.

Can't go 5 minutes without foul language. It's hard to be inspired by a movie attempting to portray a true story with the vulgar language. Let alone inspire the youth.
