I admit, I'm a sucker for a good prison movie, but this one did not hold my attention like the legendary prison flicks such as "Shawshank Redemption" & "The Green Mile". Even though Stallone never disappoints and Donald Sutherland nails the "bad guy" so well, John Amos (of "Good Times") gave a stellar performance. Just felt this movie was too predictable and dragged at parts. Great display of prison politics among the fellow inmates but not worth the $9.99 I paid to watch this for a movie made in 1989. GREAT musical scores by Bill Conti who is known for his musical genius soundtracks for the "Rocky" movies. Overall, I give this movie a B-.

This is one of my favorite Stallone films. I loved the friendship he shared with some of the other inmates...it seemed genuine. And the build up to the ending was awesome!

If you a huge fan for Stallone. Then none of his movies are bad. Lockup is good. Especially older actors are in film as well.
