THE GOOD: Really cool miniseries that sheds a lot of light on Susan Strong, and what happened to the humans. Goes together nicely with the "Stakes" Miniseries (it focused mostly on Marceline). Definitely worth it if you're already a fan of Adventure Time. If you're just starting to check out this series, I would NOT recommend starting with "Islands" - just start at the beginning of the series and follow the progression. Besides, having your questions answered over time is a far better reward. THE BAD: After paying $20 or so for Volume 10, Google listed the "Islands" Miniseries as a standalone purchase (just like they did with the "Stakes" Miniseries). Now they expect fans of the show to shell out more $$ for something that should be included in Vol. 10 (which as of 2/19 is still "airing" but won't include these 8 episodes). When you order a season that is already in progress, it states that as new episodes air, they will become available on Google Play, *carefully* leaving out the fact that anything that is considered a mini-series apparently will not be included with your purchase. At least offer a discount to those of us who had no idea about the miniseries when we purchased Volume 10 MONTHS ago. Naaaah, not Google! Looks like it's going to be torrents from here on out. Thank you *insert the name of my favorite torrent site here*! No thanks, Google. But yeah, Adventure Time is STILL the bee's knees!

*** FYI *** 'Adventure Time: Islands' is one of a few mini-series within the main Adventure Time series ('Stakes!' and 'Elements' being the other two). While this mini-series could be watched by itself, I wouldn't recommend watching it without having seen the many seasons that take place before this. This mini-series is best seen as something to flesh out characters you're already familiar with in the show.

This is one of the best storylines Adventure Time has ever done. The characters are at their most natural, and despite a major set of questions being answered in only 8 episode, each one flows naturally and offers an incredible sense of pace and poise. Wonderful, funny, tragic, and beautiful. This is Adventure Time.
