About this movie

Based on the popular original video game, Doom: Annihilation is an explosive, terrifying thrill ride. On the darkest moon of Mars, scientists have found an ancient portal which allows teleportation throughout the universe. Considered to be mankind's greatest discovery, it's actually a gateway from hell, unleashing a swarm of demons looking to steal the souls of everyone who gets in their way. It's up to Lieutenant Joan Dark and an elite unit of Marines to destroy an ever-growing horde of bloodsucking and soul-stealing beasts and prevent them from taking over planet earth.

This is an atrocious, gutteral heap of absolute bloody filth. Betwixt the CGI being so low-budget I would expect it from an early 2000's CGI kids show. The costume design was so unbelievably terrible that I've seen metal bands with better looks. Off the top of my head, GWAR and Nekrogoblikon have comparable costume quality, except for GWAR hamming it up and Nekrogoblikon putting much more effort into it. All of the imps look like their costumes were put together with bubblegum and Aliens memorabilia. The story is lackluster, the characters are forgettable and bland, the DOOM references range from piss-poor to embarrassing, and the weapons wildly underperform. Ultimately, it feels like an escape room-turned-movie. Except this time? The exit is turning off the film.

It amazes me how terrible a film can be at times. I've seen a few stinkers, but this one takes the cake. I don't know where to start! From the boring cast, the pathetic plot, the atrocious cgi, and worst of all, they completely RUINED the BFG 9000! Who in their right mind would watch it!? Don't waste your money. Buy Doom eternal instead.

Hands down, THE WORST movie I have EVER seen. I'm not kidding. It pays no respect to the source material at all. When I say that this movie has nothing at all to do with the games, I mean it. The are no demons, characters, places, and only one gun from the game, which they completely butchered. They also forced ethnic diversity into this movie, and of course, there's the "strong Independent female protagonist." I am a huge DOOM fan, and it feels like this movie is kicking me in the balls.
