A Brokeback mountain knockoff. I can't believe this movie has a better rotten tomatoes score? The director here is no Ang Lee and while the actors are good they are not Gyllenhaal and Ledger. I wasn't entertained and I find it reductive. I guess people like the happy ending but that's not how life always goes!

The only thing i didn't like about the movie is that i can't stop watching it. I have become obsessed with the movie...and fallen in love with Alec because he is so handsome and his acting is superb. He should have gotten a trophy that his very talented co star Josh O'connor received. Could you have him send me a picture?

Atmospheric and Inspiring I watched God's Own Country at a university. Before the film began, a professor spoke and emphasized for one to pay attention to how its director normalizes homosexual relations. I feel that crude monikers for gay or bisexual men were only spoken by the protagonist and his flame as jests. The plot surprised me in many ways because of the direction it took. I believe that accepting characters made all of the difference! I think that the setting was essential to the success of the film as well. I feel that it was refreshing to watch a LGBT romance occur in the country.
