John Wick

Overrated - I finally decided to check out this film after hearing it brought up often on a podcast I listen to and I can't help but feel letdown. I love Keanu, but he just does not feel made for this role. The action feels somewhat sluggish and overtly choreographed and there are too many moments when John is given ridiculous plot armor that takes away from an already-lacking story. This is one of those films that makes me realize the general public's standards for storytelling is laughably low

Outstanding movie that is very well done ... this had First Blood vibes for me. The man who asked for no trouble but by random cruelty is then forced to focus all the anguish and hate he can muster to right things. I did find it strange that he had retired but chose to live in the same town.. not the best choice imo

One of the finest action movies following a former assassin, after being the victim of a horrific assault that also leads to death of a being that was helping him grieve, who ends up going back to the life he left to chase down the mobster that committed the assault, only to have a challenge of the wretched mobster being heavily protected. Brutal and shot with the finest camera work and colored text, expect a ride of revenge.
