About this show

Based on Lev Grossman's best-selling book series, "The Magicians" follows Quentin Coldwater, a highly intelligent but socially withdrawn twenty-something secretly obsessed with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child about a magical land called Fillory. Beyond that, Quentin's life is dull until he finds himself admitted to a very secret, exclusive college of magic in Upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the practice of modern sorcery. However, magic doesn't bring the happiness, adventure, and meaning that he thought it would…until he and his friends discover that Fillory is real.

A failed + flailing attempt at "sexy Harry Potter". Observations: we're told each magician has a "specialty" that defines their type of magic, yet Penni is the only one who has that named or explored. The school is pointless; there are no magic-based jobs, nor is it like X-Men, where they train as heroes. In fact, the school admin doesn't care at all about people who use magic for ill-intent. Characters are 1-dimensional and annoying. Did they hire writers from season 2+ of "Heroes"? So bad.

Utter trash. "The Magicians" was clearly made by a bunch of self righteous prick Boomers/gen X's. Who use this garbage to mock the younger generations. Though we are significantly economically disadvantaged, due to their selfishness and inability to raise children properly. There is no fantasy here, just an old bitter generation sucking your time and money. The characters are purposefully week and stupid, meant to degrade us, so they can make as many seasons as possible. Don't waste your time.

3 seasons in and I’m still disappointed. This is a Lame Supernatural knock off. Come on Q looks and acts like Sam Winchester. Yellow eyed demon?. Very lame endings to each season. I’m not wasting anymore money. One episode of wynnoda rider that I just watched kills all your episodes. I should review more lmao
