The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return for Insidious: Chapter 4. The film is written by co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw), who wrote the trilogy and directed Chapter 3; produced by Insidious regulars Jason Blum (The Purge series, Get Out), Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) and co-creator James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7); and directed by series newcomer Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan).

If you enjoy the storyline of insidious you should enjoy this film. I saw it after binge watching the previous ones so the ongoing storyline was still fresh in my mind. However it isn't as scary as the last films so if you are looking for a quick scare this isn't it and lots more films would do this better. It does a great job of building tension throughout the film and though sparing with its jump scares, the ones which were included were good, it just needed a few more.

I'm not as critical as most when it comes to reviews but I'm afraid to say this isn't a horror film more of a documentary prequel...... And not a very good one at that, glad I didn't go to the cinema to watch this I'm afraid. If your looking for a horror keep on looking and let this pass you by

It didn't make sense to have a prequel after the previous insidious movies. Knowing what happened to certain characters made this movie feel pointless. They should've started with an origin story to begin with
