About this movie

In “Point Break,” a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes–led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a spate of crimes in extremely unusual ways. Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes. The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by elite athletes representing the world’s best in class in big-wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motorcycling.

It tries too hard and gets most of it wrong. The fly-suit section would have been better if it just used actual flight footage and the surf scene is just daft - they cgi Jaws (the break they are surfing) into a position that just looks wrong. I watched it hoping for a cracking (if cheesy) film but was left underwhelmed.

I started to watch this film and thought it wasn't that bad. It was never going to be great, the original is such a cult film bit I likes the concept of the plot and the changes they has made. Then Jonny Utah made his reveal as an FBI agent to Bodhi and it went down hill rapidly. It had potential to be a good remake based on a film concept but it let itself down with a hurried ending.

This was the worst film I've seen in a long time. The original Point Break was an iconic film from my youth. This remake misses the mark. I saw another review titled "GoPro and Redbull make a film". This sums it up. Utter rubbish.
