Suburbicon

A contemporary written film that is trying to portray the early 1950's pre-civil rights movements, with a sub plot of a young boy who's caught up in the middle of all of it. He finds out that his aunt (separated from the uncle who loves the boy), is having an affair with his dad who killed his mother by hiring lone sharks/ semi-sub contract killers to do the dirty work and then not paying the ransom from the insurance on the work carried out. The boy caught up in the middle of it finds friends in a black boy who keeps having his family tormented by white racist southerners. Somewhere along the line George Clooney has added his interpretations of diversion from Episcopalianism to Judaism, what this has to do with the religious context is a bit confusing and makes this film stand between a drama and light thriller. Made on a cheap budget I expect, makes a pigs ear on the history of very sensitive matters and could have done with a little more thinking about. Be prepared for an open ending, we never do find out what happens to the lead character after everyone dies around him. People will find this film quite oblivious if they don't understand a twisted subplot.

Was ok. But I did watch on Amazon. Signated by prime to watch free in monthly account. Juliane Moore always very good.

Very funny black comedy. Enjoyable!
