Outlander

I discovered this series on Amazon Prime and just fell in love with it! A great blend on historical drama, action, adventure and a dash of time travel thrown in for good measure! I can't recommend this series enough! I'm currently reading the second book in the series as well. They are just as good if not better than the tv show!

personally, i tend to hate any romantic centered TV or film because they are not very romantic. I always thought they were aimed at middle-aged housewives who had grown bored with their husbands and who watch wishing that their husband would behave like the hero. I can personally say that I like the character of Jamie but he does not set my heart a racing. What I do like is the history and the setting and how they have not been shy when it comes to the nasty end of war or peoples inner motives. Clair is a great character who plays being torn very well and never hams it up and the settings are real. I totally understand why some of the series has an 18 on it and is aimed at adults but its one of those series that has broken what I thought it would be something that is very rewarding to watch.

Fantastic characters brought to life through great casting, shame about the actress playing Claire, so wooden, but I got used to her after a while. Went straight back to the beginning and watched it all again. Not something I've ever done before!
