Bad Move

Steve and Nicky are a couple of townies who have made the move from the city to the countryside to live the dream, but the dream is rapidly turning into a nightmare. Their house is a ramshackle mess, they've been duped by a travelling conman and to cap it all it seems they can't get the internet because they live in a dip - which poses a bit of problem for Steve as he works from home as a website designer.

When Steve and Nicky wake up to a beautiful sunny morning life in the countryside doesn't feel so bad after all... but they're soon brought back to earth when they discover their kitchen is flooded. Nicky tries calling a plumber but nobody can come for a couple of days so they resort to sweeping and shovelling the water out themselves. Their smug neighbours, Matt and Meena, only rub salt in their wounds by reminding them that they live in a dip so the water is probably coming up through the floor, and Nicky's father, Ken, says they'll have to tank the place, which will cost a fortune

The next morning their smug neighbours, Matt and Meena, arrive to tell them that Meena has decided to take up pottery and therefore needs a website. For a moment Steve thinks they've come to ask him to design it and so his mood softens...but it doesn't last because they only want tips from him and, to add insult to injury, they offer to pay him with one of Meena's pottery bowls instead of cash.

Matt and Meena remind Steve and Nicky that they promised to throw a house warming party some time ago and they reluctantly agree. Steve later comes up with a reason why they should cancel the party but Nicky won't hear of it. They tell Ken about their plans and, in his usual helpful fashion, he suggests their money would be better spent on fixing the large crack in their chimney first. Regardless of this, they go ahead and invite all their old city friends. Unfortunately, one by one they all drop out. It seems the Yorkshire countryside is a mile too far for them to travel!
