About this movie

Based on the top-selling, award-winning videogame franchise, the Hitman is a genetically-engineered, elite assassin known only as Agent 47. His very existence seems to be a sin, but he wages a quiet war to rid the world of evil. He's brilliant, charismatic and charming -- yet reveals little about himself, has no name, and is known only by the last two digits of a barcode tattooed on the back of his head. His hallmarks are a lethal grace, unwavering precision, and resolute pride in his work. But even 47 couldn't anticipate a "random equation" in his life of exactitude: the unexpected stirrings of his conscience and the unfamiliar emotions aroused in him by a mysterious Russian woman.

Bastardization of the Agent 47 character, avoiding most of the points of what his training and "birthing" process took away from him as a human, to give it a romantic angle, just so that it can play to a extra but small secondary grouping of people. Now aside from that, this movie IF it had not used the Hitman IP, and gone on its own alternative, or even gone with a different generation of agent (seeing as they are vat grown, and likely could play the original breed card, being unstable), it would have been a good movie. However as they decided to use 47 which was seemingly one of the better cloned vat children to come out of the agency test labs, and decided for whatever reason to remove the point of the training that each agent goes under to remain on mission, and avoid most facets of human contact (for good reason mind you, as having someone around = death in a espionage life style), it ended up playing out the part, of a movie that showed just how little the director, or team of writers, actually understood from every game that came out on the IP, so I cant even give it a rating that it could have deserved, really wish people gave enough of a s*** to actually do some indepth research at least of the original games, before making a movie for it, as if your just making it for non-gamers then your better off making your own universe and leaving the games IP alone. Now that, all of the shaming is out of the way, this movie IF it had been a different universe idea, or even a different agent, so that the original was left unscathed, would likely have merited a 4 or 5 if I could get past the fact that the common sense for espionage training wasnt just ripped up and thrown out the window, cause there is no happy endings for romance in espionage based jobs (and before anyone says Im just against romance, Id beg to differ, as its a essential part in my relationship for me), now if anyone isnt a gamer (who has played and liked the hitman series from the ground up), or just wants a nice action flick, then by all means take this review as a 4-5 star, and ignore the rants above, because it is good, but if your looking for something to explain, or even show agent 47 as a brought to life incarnation, your not going to get it.

It's not amazing but it delivers. Had a lot of fun scenes and did a good job at implementing a game in to a movie that worked for both gamers and casual movie goers.

If you have ever played the games then this movie is not worth your time. Steers away from the actual story line and who amd what Agent 47 really is.
