The first 7 seasons were brilliantly irreverent. I great show to sit down to and have a laugh... Then season 8 came about and right from the beginning there was a different feel to the show. Thought maybe it's just new writers finding their voices. No, they've now decided to take up a cause and preach to us... Episode 8 was bad and then 9 came along and it was worse. It's time to find another show that is there for what it is meant to be - entertainment not preaching morality.

From the beginning I thought Shameless was the best show out on TV - hands down. And I stand by that when discussing seasons 1-7ish. By mid-day in season 7 (spoilers) when Fiona comes into all this money (relatively speaking) I felt like it led to some cognitive dissonance at least on my behalf. Especially, after seeing the characters depicted as belonging to a monetarily unstable socioeconomic group, though making it through by depending on one another. That was lost on me towards S7+
