About this movie

Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett star in this funny and touching film about four women who find strength through their rare and special relationship. Savannah, Bernadine, Robin and Gloria are all searching for the Real Thing: true love. Bernadine thought she had it, until her husband left her for another woman. Savannah and Robin are successful in business but their love lives are bankrupt. And divorcee Gloria is getting back in the game by flirting with her new, very eligible neighbor. Based on Terry McMillan's best-selling novel, and featuring the #1 smash hit "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," "Waiting to Exhale" is the film you and your friends have been waiting for!

This is a great chick flick. Angela Bassett is the most beautiful woman on earth. Whitney and the rest of the cast are beautiful as well. However, I think Angela shines in this one. It is a must see and shows an intimate relationship that we are sometimes, if we are very lucky, able share with other women. It is my favorite movie of all time. Believe me it's up there with Breakfast at Tiffany's, Marnie and so on. I don't think it was made for a man or from a man's perspective but from a woman's.

This movie is not only sexy, it's an empowering movie about women overcoming the obstacles in their lives and having friends to help them through the tough times. I love this film.

Waiting to Exhale is one of my family's favorite urban movie especially seeing Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Lela Rochon, and Loretta Devine star as four African-American women who are good friends from Phoenix, Arizona in relationships with their men, children, and with each of their personal and professional lifestyles. Forest Whitaker directed this movie as the only first film he made the best ever in urban culture. This film is based and adapted from the 1992 novel of the same name by novelist Terry McMillan. Michael Beach, Brandon Hammond, and Jeffrey D. Sams appeared together on Waiting to Exhale all before knowingly showed on another film, Soul Food
