About this movie

"You can't tear your eyes away" (Entertainment Weekly) from this "wicked, psychosexual thriller" (Daily Variety) starring ACADEMY AWARD® WINNER Natalie Portman* and directed by Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler ). Portman delivers "the performance of her career" (Vanity Fair ) as Nina, a stunningly talented but dangerously unstable ballerina on the verge of stardom. Pushed to the breaking point by her driven artistic director (Vincent Cassel) and the threat posed by a seductive rival dancer (Mila Kunis), Nina's tenuous grip on reality starts to slip away -- plunging her into a waking nightmare. *Actress, Black Swan, 2010

I liked the movie and couldn't tear my eyes away from it but it was not necessarily a good movie. The movie was intriguing, beautiful and we'll acted but I would say not to watch this expecting a horror movie. If you like ballet or the theatre then you'll probably get something out of this but it's really only about a ballerina gradually becoming mentally unstable in the pursuit of perfection. She is both her own best friend and worst enemy. This leads to a tragic end. Sorry if I spoiled it.

One of my favorite (if not my favorite movie of all time). I think it may actually be the greatest role Natalie Portman has ever been in. There are very few movies actually able to grab your interest and keep it all the way until the climax, to bring your emotions forward and feel with the character. The flutter of the wings of the black swan near the very end gives me chills every time I watch this movie. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good film. To have ever missed seeing this movie is a mistake that no one should endure.

What a intense movie not in the sense that anything huge is going on it's a gradual psychological ride with just enough to keep you watching! Her obsession is the make of this movie and of the discipline. The mind is a disturbing masterpiece this movie is an example. Very well on the Cast. I wouldn't say this is the best movie ever, it's a nice addition. A movie you have to be in the mood for. She played her part very well! It is definitely worth your watch.
