Disclosure

I find it difficult to say what is in my heart about this important and beautifully made film. Both mothers protect fiercely. But survivors of childhood abuse often become enablers. That is true of the mother of the abusing son. She is in denial as her childhood family was. Her horrific history comes flooding back and she weeps, "Nobody believes me!" And it is clear that she is transported back in time to her own past. This is not a comfortable, entertaining film. I wish there were more like it.
