If you think that The Sandlot is a better movie than this, then you are fooling yourself into believing a delusionally bland, cold take about 90s movie ethos. This is one of the best baseball movies made, full stop, and deserves mention with the likes of Bull Durham, Major League, A League of Their Own, etc. You've been lied to about The Sandlot your entire life. And Rookie of the Year - that's another trash movie. But this here is the real thing - a baseball movie for baseball fans and 90s kids alike. Shoutout Tim Busfield and the guy that plays the Chief of Staff on Veep. And Jeff Garlin!
