I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it 50 years ago. It is well written and marvelously acted. Richard Burton out did himself. Deserves more than five stars.

My twin brother and I were hired as Extras in this movie. The clothes were very authentic looking and as child slaves, we wore chalkboards with our price tags in Roman displayed by hanging on our neck.
