After uncovering a dark plot, she must sacrifice everything to protect her best friend, Lissa, a royal Moroi with a special power from those who intend to exploit her while fending off the blood-thirsty Strigoi who hunt her kind. Also starring Olga Kurylenko (QUANTUM OF SOLACE), Cameron Monaghan (TV's SHAMELESS), Sarah Hyland (TV's MODERN FAMILY), and Gabriel Byrne (THE USUAL SUSPECTS).

The marketing on this film may have missed the mark but it grabbed my attention enough to read the books (which I have picked up MANY times in the store and put back down). I'm OBSESSED with this series now. The writing is amazing, witty and YA but not too unbelievable. I love it. And this movie definitely captures the essence of Richelle's characters.

I have to say for how crappy the script must have been to work with the top 4 cast ( rose, the princess, mason and demitri) did remarkably well for what they had to go on... Yes the magic and drama should have been played up a lot more but i think they well captured the dynamic between the top four... As a avid reader and fan of the books in this series I think they did very well with the bond and demitri and rose awkward love connection... Overall I liked it... Just needs a fans touch to get it right!

I enjoyed this movie more than I expected. This is definitely a movie for fans of YA books (which I believe is the target audience for the books.) The two female main characters were interesting and fun and fairly realistic for teenagers. The vampire fights & hints of background lore made me want to know more. I actually picked up the ebook on sale after finishing the movie hoping it would expand upon things. So if you're looking for a goofy, yet fun movie give this one a try! You might be surprised.
