This movie had me in tears. My instructor used this movie to answer questions regarding Family Law. This movie showed how some can be prejudice by looking on the outside of a person without knowing the genuine internal love and dedication this man had for his daughter. Yes, his intellect appeared to be low, however, it was so unnecessary to bully him. Instead of taking her out of the home immediately, they should have investigated and afforded him and his daughter the resources that was available. I literally had tears though. Sean Penn played the character so well, it seemed real. This to me, proved that he is a great actor. This movie had me filled with all types of emotions. I was angry, laughing, and sad. Kudos to the cast and director.

Not only is it one of the best movies ever made, the actors make the characters believable. Sean Penn is so good as an actor, it's easy to forget he's not one of the best people in real life to get along with. Anyway, this is one of those movies that you hate to love to see over again, because you relive the pains, as well as the joys that are in it.

This movie is touching and told very well. There are moments of laughter but the story itself, played by such amazing actors, grabbed me to the point I could not quit watching the movie until it was over. That is saying something because I normally can't sit still for an entire movie.
