This movie, which is about the 1982 disappearance of Johnny Gosch, is heart-wrenching on many levels. Sadly, it leaves the viewer with more questions than it answers. As a father, it is incomprehensible how the Gosches (and others in similar ordeals) are able to move forward. They deserve much better treatment from law officials than they received.

The movie was very tragic but what struck me in the heart was the complete lack of help from the police dept. and the FBI. That was just inconceivable to me. The PD and FBI are the ones who have to live with themselves. It was as if the officers wrote off the mom as a loony bin when in fact she was very strong. I just hope some of the laws have changed regarding missing children. Not all children are runaways and never have been.

The inaction by the West Des Moines PD is as mystifying as it is maddening. The mother, Noreen, is an American hero, one of the trailblazers in the national response to the phenomenon of child sex trafficking. One thing is certain: you will not be the same person after viewing this film.
