About this movie

In 1936, the Wollners, a German family living in Town Creek, West Virginia, are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar. In need of money, they accept Professor Ricard Wirth into their home, unaware of the Third Reich's practices in the occult or Wirth's real mission, which will keep the family bound for decades to come. Now, in 2007, after mysteriously disappearing two years ago near Town Creek, Evan Marshall's older brother Victor suddenly returns, very much alive and having escaped his captors. Evan asks no questions; at his brother's request, he loads their rifles, packs their boat and follows Victor back to Town Creek on a mission of revenge that will test them in every possible way.

The movie is okay. I guess if you are into like Nazi zombie type stuff you might like it. Except there is only one bad guy and he's not really a zombie. He's more like a high ranking Nazi officer that was turned into this living dead eternal soldier by some secret Nazi occult ritual with Nordic runestones. There isn't much as far as special effects and nothing really scary about it. Nazi dude looks like the half human half vampire from the series The Strain. Henry Cavill (Superman) is in it.

I enjoyed this film and thought it was a cut above many recent offerings in the horror genre. Some of it I found unintentionally funny though, for example; List of chores: 1 Put on bone armor. 2 Ring the bell so the blood sucking demon can come and have supper...etc.

This is the kind of movie that I love to curl up and watch on a quiet, stormy night, when I am alone.... The story is quiet good and the telling is done well. I have been a horror fan since I was a kid. I devour books, movies and documentaries on the subject. I really did not expect much from this movie but I was wrong.... it was excellent. I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for something to do for an hour and a half. I would strongly recommend it to horror fans looking for a story that is fresh and new. So, settle in and scare yourself up a good time... ;-©
