I enjoyed both seasons. Season 2 showed more growth in the story, while Season 1 is (out of necessity) a lot of set-up. Some episodes moved at a quicker pace than others, but they all kept my attention. I never read the books, so I can't say how true it holds. I'm told they mix stories from several books into a new narrative. To me, it works just fine. The characters are portrayed well by the actors, which I'm sure is because there is so much source material. But says the screenplay is also well written. I hope they continue with the series because they're leaving Season 2 on a cliff-hanger larger than the one used for Season 1.

So bad. Bad acting, boring as hell, same young adult story like "this child knows more that adults". So much vamping. Poorly done show. Quit halfway through season.

This is a favorite book series. I felt like it was well done and stayed true to the books. The hated the Golden Compass movie but loved this show.
