4400

Over the last century at least four thousand four hundred people who were overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized vanished without a trace off the face of the planet. Last night, inexplicably, they were all returned in an instant to Detroit having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government races to understand the phenomenon, analyze the potential threat, and contain the story, Jharrel (Joseph David-Jones), an empathetic social worker, and Keisha (Ireon Roach), a hardened community corrections officer, are among the civil servants called upon to deal with the uncanny refugees. The new partners clash in ideology and approach, but gradually find they have more in common than they thought as they become familiar with those under their care, including Shanice (Brittany Adebumola), a lawyer and resilient young mother from the early aughts, whose unexpected reunion with her estranged husband Logan (Cory Jeacoma) and suddenly teenaged daughter Mariah is immediately rocky; Andre (TL Thompson), a WWI Army surgeon fresh from the Harlem Renaissance; Claudette (Jaye Ladymore), an influential hidden figure from the Mississippi civil rights movement; Isaiah “Rev” Johnston (Derrick A. King), a black sheep reverend-scion born to a notable televangelist family in 1990s Chicago; LaDonna (Khailah Johnson), a seemingly shallow but misunderstood D-list reality TV star from Miami, circa 2015; and two wildly different unaccompanied teens, Mildred (Autumn Best), a vibrant girl, whose bell bottoms give away her 1970s upbringing, and Hayden (AMARR), an introspective, prescient boy, whose origin remains a mystery. These unwilling time travelers, collectively the 4400, must grapple with their impossible new reality, the fact that they’ve been returned with a few…upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were brought back now for a reason they’re only beginning to understand.

As the 4400 become even more disenchanted with their accommodations, new rules have everyone on edge. Andre (TL Thompson) and LaDonna (Khaila Johnson) help Claudette (Jaye Ladymore) push her new-found ability to new limits. Keisha (Ireon Roach) and Jharrell (Joseph David-Jones) explore a way to ease the tension for a small group of the returned and Shanice (Brittany Adebumola) gets an unexpected visitor. Meanwhile, Rev (Derrick A. King) begins to believe he may be part of a higher calling, but what will that mean for the rest of the 4400?

LaDonna (Khaila Johnson) signs up for fifteen more minutes of fame but quickly realizes she doesn't have the clout she once had, so she turns to an unlikely source to help further her agenda, meanwhile Jharrell (Joseph David-Jones) picks an inopportune time to speak his truth, and it may cost him dearly. Andre (TL Thompson) is eager to get back to medicine while everyone is eager to feel a bit of normalcy again. Shanice (Brittany Adebumola) takes a step towards repairing her relationship with her daughter and Hayden (AMARR) and Mildred (Autumn Best) enjoy an impromptu celebration.

Finally there is some good news for a few of the 4400. Andre (TL Thompson) looks to study some of his new friends but mistakes from his past begin to affect him in present day. Rev (Derrick A. King) finds some information about his sons fame but quickly realizes she doesn't have the clout she once had, so she turns to an unlikely source to help further her agenda, meanwhile Jharrell (Joseph David-Jones) picks an inopportune time to speak his truth, and it may cost him dearly. Andre (TL Thompson) is eager to get back to medicine while everyone is eager to feel a bit of normalcy again. Keisha (Ireon Roach) hears the truth about the day she lost her sister, moving her to take a chance. Shanice (Brittany Adebumola) and Andre (TL Thompson) enjoy a day out, meanwhile, Hayden (AMARR) and Mariah (guest star Sophia Echendu) grow closer.

Jharrel (Joseph David Jones) and Keisha (Ireon Roach) must earn the trust of the 4400 if they truly want to help keep them safe. Hayden (AMARR) convinces LaDonna (Khailah Johnson) and Andre (TL Thompson) to visit Ypsi Med and Rev (Derrick A. King) continues to grow his flock.

Claudette (Jaye Ladymore) begins to assert her independence, while Rev (Derrick A. King) keeps his flock close, further raising Jharrel's (Joseph David-Jones) suspicions. Meanwhile, LaDonna (Khailah Johnson) considers her next move, Keisha (Ireon Roach) has a date with Jessica (guest star Wilder Yari), and Andre (TL Thompson) is concerned by his latest discovery.

Logan's adjustment to Shanice's return has been harder than he let on, meanwhile, Rev is beginning to see the light. Mildred lets her emotions get the better of her, possibly endangering the rest of the 4400.

The scene is chaotic, and everyone is still reeling after Mildred's (Autumn Best) on camera performance, meanwhile the government tries to figure out their next move. Rev (Derrick A. King) is confused by his new ability, Jharrel (Joseph David-Jones) get some unexpected news, and no one seems to know Ladonna's (Khailah Johnson) whereabouts.

With everyone at the Bois Blanc still on edge, the government deals another blow to the 4400. Meanwhile, Jharrell (Joseph David Jones) gets some shocking information about his brother, Shanice (Brittany Adebumola) and Andre (TL Thompson) continue to grow closer, and Mildred (Autumn Best) resurfaces.

While Shanice helps to prepare the Bois Blanc for a celebration, others are preparing for war. LaDonna returns to the hotel and we learn what she has experienced out in the real world and what she knows about the 4400. After a disturbing incident, Hayden realizes the comfort of Kaminsky home may not be what is safest for everyone. Jharrell reunites with his brother but is Manny to be trusted and what is his connection to Claudette? Meanwhile, an unfortunate misunderstanding might prove fatal for one of the 4400.

Logan (Cory Jeacoma) is the only witness to a savage crime, that, to all others does not seem to exist, meanwhile Claudette (Jaye Ladymore) stands up to a group of anti-4400's. Mildred (Autumn Best) rallies the troops when she fears Milicent (guest star Raven Whitney) might be in trouble and we get a glimpse into the sisters' lives growing up and the mysterious Caleb (guest star Patrick John Flueger).

Tensions rise as an attack is made on the Bois Blanc, putting everyone's life in danger. Shanice and Logan do their best to keep Hayden save, while Claudette and Jharrell try to reason with Many. Meanwhile, Mildred still believes her sister can be saved and LaDonna takes to the streets in an effort to end the threat against the 4400.
