Songs weren't very catchy and the story is basically an islander version of LOTR. Basically this girl has to return the one ring or else the ocean and everything it touches is gonna die. It kinda slow and repetitive at parts, I don't think I could sit through this more than once. Nothing special here. Go and watch the Honest Trailers for this movie, sums it up quite nicely.

It was OK. Not a whole lot makes this film stand out compared to any other Disney movie, having the same basic story telling formula as any of their other films. Animation was good, and the music was nice. Was definitely some good humor. Problem is, this film was filled with superstitious nonsense and false religion, which some people (like myself) may find offensive. The message of the movie seemed to be about understanding who you are, but teaches of finding that within what you do. This is false teaching. Our identity is found in Christ alone, not within ourselves or by our works, but only by the gift of grace. Overall, I would not recommend this movie.

I went to see this in the theater and all I can say to sum up my feelings on it is... it's wonderful. Now, for the long version: This movie was easily one of my favorites after I saw it. The soundtrack is simply amazing, particularly You're Welcome. Maui's tattoos are hysterical, always there to add to whatever humor was already there, or even there to provide comic relief. Dwayne Johnson's voicing for Maui was stellar, really bringing out the narcissistic character he is. Visuals are also incredible, the different enemies and characters conveying different emotions at every turn. Overall, I would highly recommend Moana for any family looking for an adventure everyone can enjoy.
