About this movie

When four lifelong friends (Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah) travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there's enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush. - ( Original Title - Girls Trip )

Just saw this in theaters I can not wait to own this. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this and would highly recommend watching it. I laughed so hard I choked on popcorn. My husband went in expecting to hate it since it sounded like a chick flick but he laughed almost as hard as I did.

The cast is amazing. The characters are ugly female stereotypes: Bitchy, Slutty, Snobby, and Uptight. Sentimental bullshit gets in the way of the comedy at the end. Felt kinda man-hatey, too. I bought this, but I feel no impulse to watch it again.

Hilarious with an empowering message for women but men would enjoy it also. Spot on casting. These women really put their hearts into their characters. It's one of those movies you can watch over & over and not get bored. Definitely buying the DVD bc it would be Great for movie night with friends or an at home date night or just to put you in a good mood or want a good laugh. Probably not winning any Oscars but maybe it should lol! I was actually a little disappointed when it was over, made me want a sequel to see where they ended up 5 years later lol.One of the best comedies I've seen in a long time. Editing comment to add that I did not read the reviews on here before I watched it, I just like comedies & queen latifah & wanted to see it since it was released in theatres. After I rated it on here I started to read some of the comments & was surprised that almost all of them said the same things I said in my own comments about the messages of the movie, the casting & even about Tiffany Hadish. It really amazed me that so many people who don't know each really had the same feelings/thoughts about it that I did. Really goes to show that we are all taking away from this movie the same things & proves at least to me that they accomplished what they set out to do in making this film, bringing people together thru comedy & the messages thru out the movie. I saw some negative comments as well. of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions & to like it dislike whatever they want I think those that only got thru 15 mins then turned it off really missed out on a good thing. They never gave it a chance. Yea there was some cussing & some far out scenes but that's not the whole of the movie. by not giving it a chance & watching to the end it's a little unfair to make such negative remarks based on the first 15 mins. Not to mention that they missed out on really getting to the meat of the movie & what its really about. You can't go into it expecting a Shakespearean work of art. You have to see it for what it is & open your mind a bit, disregard the language or take it as it is at least. A movie about 4 friends who are comfortable enough with each other to be themselves, to say and do things without be inhibited, being able let your guard down and be yourself with your best friends. I censor myself regularly around most people but when I'm with my own flossy posse I let loose just like these characters did. Cussing & acting up now & then doesn't mean your automatically a horrible person & one shouldn't judge another by that act alone bc people are deeper then the cusses that come out of their mouths. But again everyone is entitled to feel, think & say what they want about things, I just wish those negative comments were based on more then 15 minutes of the beginning of the movie or some foul language bc that's not what it's about. The movie does carry quite a few good messages/lessons throughout & I think some people missed out on that by judging it too quickly. All the same, they are entitled to just watch the first 15 mins of it & hate it. Just wish they had given it a chance. But for me, I loved it & I got what I was suppose to out of it.
