About this movie

Sometimes you find love where you'd least expect it. Just ask Lars (Gosling), a sweet but quirky guy who thinks he's found the girl of his dreams in a life-sized doll named Bianca. Lars is completely content with his artificial girlfriend, but when he develops feelings for Margo, an attractive co-worker, Lars finds himself lost in a hilariously unique love triangle, hoping to somehow discover the real meaning of true love. Offbeat and endearing, this romantic comedy takes a fresh look at dating and relationships and dares to ask the question: What's so wrong with being happy?

One of those great head-fake stories that lets you think the story is about a man and some sort of fetish; when, instead of the story being about Bianca (the doll), the story of Lars, the tragedy that struck his family, and how that has shaped his character is patiently unfolded through the interactions he has with people and Bianca. Superbly acted by Gosling who dons a fireman's-mustache and looks to have put on some weight for the role, in this he steps away from his usual debonair typecast and plays (as others have said) a delusional man-child very well. Pay attention to the backstory of what happened with Lars and his brother and father to get the most out of this film.

If you didnt like this movie you didnt get it. How the whole town pitches in to help Lars is very moving. You laugh cringe cry applaud and feel good.
